Lovebugs & Basel Symphony Orchestra

History A first for Switzerland, Basel Symphony Orchestra approached the Swiss pop/rock band ‘Lovebugs’ to create a joint project. ‘Lovebugs’ contacted Arts Festivals to run the entire project and to create a three date event. Brief To generate new publicity for the ‘Lovebugs’, to get a younger audience into a classical venue and to bring the orchestra into projects involving new genres of music. Most importantly, create a programme which has integrity which both orchestra and band could be proud of. Details New arrangements of the songs were created, then orchestrated. Orchestral only highlights were composed. The management of integrating lighting, a new sound system (specially created to cope with a classical music hall acoustic), dvd filming, live album recording and stage direction were supplied.
